Max Dashu founded the Suppressed Histories Archives in 1970 to research and document global women's history. She is internationally known for her expertise on female spheres of power, matricultures; patriarchy and allied systems of domination; on goddess iconography, medicine women, female shamans, witches—and the witch hunts. From her vast collection of images, she created over 100 visual talks on female cultural heritages from the most ancient times to the present. Over 253,000 people follow her on the Suppressed Histories Facebook page
Dashu’s books are Witches and Pagans: Women in European Folk Culture, 700-1100 and Women in Greek Mythography: Pythias, Melissae and Titanides. She also produced two dvds: Woman Shaman: The Ancients (2013) and Women's Power in Global Perspective (2008).
